Aleksandra Karpowicz is an award-winning artist working with video, photography, and performance. In her art she explores themes of relationship to body, psychology, sexuality, and identity, and how those aspects of human nature are expressed and oppressed in our society and politics.
Aleksandra often performs and models for her own work, exposing my struggles and my personal journey of healing. She resonates empathically with people, especially those affected by inequality, and through her art she aims to share that empathy and foster collective support. A great diversity of over 500 people from a range of social backgrounds, genders, sexuality, and ages appear in her work. She sees her art as an empowering platform of expression for both herself and the communities she works with.

Emma Woodcock (Auntie Em) A display of paintings and prints inspired by a recent solo voyage of three months around the Himalayas in Nepal. Spending time in nature is an extremely important and deeply connecting part of my life. I hiked through some of the most magical, breathtaking and challenging terrains of my life in Nepal. I pushed myself physically, climbing to places I never thought possible, sketching up in high altitudes of over 5,600m to capture some of the spectacular landscapes, and the feelings of expansion, absolute awe and serenity. This series of work takes inspiration from this time.

Teresa Paiva is an artist and yoga teacher currently based in London. With a keen interest in socially engaged practice and collaboration, she has initiated and lead many collaborative art projects with other creative/wellness practitioners and diverse communities, both nationally and internationally.
Teresa is joining the exhibition with an interactive piece entitled 'A Full Breath', inviting participants on a shared, experiential journey with their own breath, whilst mark making to create large scale visualisations of the breath as charcoal drawings. Lead by artist and yoga teacher Teresa Paiva, this two hours journey will include gentle movement practise , followed by a guided yoga Nidra and experimental drawing, where participants are invited to engage with and draw their own breath. The drawings produced during this offering will remain on display at the space as a collaborative exhibition, for the duration of the Leytonstone Arts Trail. No experience needed. All materials provided on the day.

Basia Zieniewicz Yoga In The Stars, Elevated Connection, features Basia Zieniewicz for an artist talk and rebirthing taster Doorway to Destiny and Full Moon Ritual. Basia Zieniewicz, yoga teacher and co-creator to Yoga In The Stars, is a life long truth seeker. Formerly an arts teacher specialising in psychological and sociological distress and its impact on behaviour and learning, Basia has pivoted towards a path of self-discovery. Yoga has been paramount in her process towards discovering her own voice. Balancing the body with mind, and traversing non-ordinary states of consciousness to align with what she calls “cosmic constitution”, has generated an ability to deeply connect with a sacred sense of femininity and unity. Weaving her background in Integrative Art Therapy, Transpersonal Psychology, plant medicine and Psychosynthesis, Basia has began to integrate information from various realms. For Basia, her biggest undertaking is turning life itself into an art form and to share this process is her greatest privilege. Basia also hosts sharing circles, retreats and co-space holds lunar women’s circles. “It’s humbling and an honour to facilitate and witness the transformation of vulnerability into superpower”.

Paul & Mark are twin brothers and have been performing with the gongs for over five years and have been developing a healing programme to complement their practice. This practice has been developed through the healing arts and esoteric teachings from Eastern and Western traditions. The primary influences are European mysticism as well as shamanic practices from around the world. As a duet, they play together with a number of symphonic and tuned gongs, the virtue of two performers playing the gongs allows for a binaural experience, that extends one’s consciousness that much further. Together they create a layered soundscape experience for you to deeply relax and meditate into. They also complement the gongs with other instruments such as singing bowls, flute and the kalimba. Enter a wonderful sound journey where you travel through your own inner landscape. A performance that puts you into a deep meditational state that will enable you to totally relax, de-stress and heal physically & mentally. Gongs provide the most immediate way to relax by inducing a wakeful dream. Theta brainwaves occur most often just before sleep and waking but are also present in deep meditation. In this state, the external world diminishes, the senses withdraw to the inner self. This state is where archetypal imagery takes on a new focus. In this personal space, you can access and work on your shadow self, control unconscious habits and past traumas as well as any other dis-ease one needs to face and clear.
Maybe Laura is a Lithuanian-born London-based DJ and sound therapist deeply intertwined in the local electronic music scene both as an artist and curator, and well-loved for her genuine and warm energy behind the decks. She carefully selects music and weaves together worlds that allow for experimental, downtempo and dance music to effortlessly coexist.

Julian Hand + Heena Song's creative practice encompasses Music Videography, Experimental Filmmaking & Liquid Light Show Environments. They explore moving images through cine-film, analogue and digital video and various forms of light projection. They incorporate these image-making practices into experimental video work, music videos, site-specific installations and liquid light show performances. Via their projectors – incredible new images originating from all kinds of chemical and physical reactions are displayed, many of them induced by chance and wholly individual. When collaborating with musicians, in particular, they seek to create total sensory environments, merging image and sound.
